According to a front page report in the Gilmer Free Press, the Gilmer County Sheriffs department seems to be once again guilty of misconduct and possible criminal actions involving badly beating an elderly person while making and official call to a Gilmer County residence.
“Don Singleton a Gilmer County man is in the hospital due to severe injuries he suffered during his arrest by law enforcement officers on Saturday, January 28, 2012”
According to a Criminal Complaint filed against the Sheriff’s Department with Gilmer County Magistrate Court, Gilmer County Sheriff Deputy Benton Huffman responded to assist West Virginia State Police Trooper Raynor on a Welfare check on Dry Fork Road in Gilmer County.
When they arrived on the scene, State Police Trooper Raynor spoke to Mr. Singelton and asked him where his son Rodney Singleton was.
Soon the officers found out he was not there.
Don Singleton, the local resident, age 76 with a hearing impairment was sitting in his garage with nothing wrong with him at the time. The sheriff’s department had no warrants. They entered the Singleton residence where a verbal altercation ensued as a result. Mr. Singleton was arrested for battery on a police officer.
“According to the sheriff’s deputy, they did nothing wrong, but we all heard that one before. The Gilmer County Sheriff has a documented history of false arrests and bringing false charges and allegations against individuals they have targeted for one reason or another!”
Mr. Singleton is currently in Ruby Memorial hospital where he was in critical condition. He had blood on the brain from head injuries. His hands were also solid black and blue. There are knots up and down his back and on his legs.
Take warning Senior Citizens, the Gilmer County Sheriff’s department has a documented history of being liars, and bringing false evidence to grand juries and trial juries, and you could be next.
Gilmer County Sheriff Deputy Casey JONES tried out his Taser on an innocent victim and YOU could be next!
There is a procedure that law enforcement is supposed to follow and what they did was incorrect. As a taxpayer, Mr. Singleton was not properly treated.
Gilmer County, wake up and see what’s going on! This could be your Dad or Mom. Who is next?
Mr. Singleton never called the law enforcement, didn’t know they were coming, and didn’t invite them into his residence. Once they were told the individual they were looking for was not there, they should have left, but that was not the case!
